If you're looking for a way to save money - or you own a business & need help - iBuy is here and ready to serve!
  • Tell us, in a few sentences about what your business does & what inspired you to start your business?:
Poopy Be Gone is a locally owned and operated pet waste removal service in Lubbock, Texas. We help busy pet owners keep their yards clean and safe by providing reliable, affordable pooper scooper services.

The idea for Poopy Be Gone actually came from my son, Jake. He wanted to start a business with his dad and came up with the idea to launch a pooper scooper service. What began as a father-son project to teach Jake about hard work, responsibility, and customer service has grown into a thriving community-focused business built on trust, reliability, and family values.

  • What was the "aha!" moment that made you realize this business needed to exist?:
The “aha!” moment came when Jake and I were cleaning up after our dog Gunner one day. Jake looked at me and said, “I bet other people would love if someone else did this for them.” That simple comment sparked the idea. We realized there were a lot of busy pet owners who love their dogs but don’t love the chore of picking up after them. That’s when we decided to turn Jake’s idea into a real father-son business that helps families enjoy their yards without the mess.

  • Beyond selling your products or services, what kind of impact do you hope to have on the community?:
Beyond providing a service, our goal is to make a positive impact on the community by keeping yards cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable for families and their pets. We’ve also had the privilege of helping countless individuals who can’t physically do this chore on their own anymore — whether due to age, disability, or health challenges.
We also want to inspire other young people like Jake to dream big and believe they can start something of their own. Poopy Be Gone isn’t just about scooping poop — it’s about lending a helping hand, teaching responsibility, building community connections, and showing that even small businesses can make a big difference.

  • How has the local community's support shaped your business's journey?:
The support from our local community has been the foundation of our success. From the very beginning, families, pet owners, and neighbors have embraced our father-son business with open arms. Their encouragement, referrals, and kind words have helped us grow far beyond what we imagined in that first conversation Jake and I had about starting a pooper scooper service.
This community has not only supported our business but also our mission — to help others, keep yards clean, and inspire young entrepreneurs. Every client isn’t just a customer; they’re part of the story that makes Poopy Be Gone what it is today.

  • What is your favorite local business (besides your own), and what makes it special?:
Our favorite local business is Sweet Pup Co. Bernadette, the owner, is such a wonderful person and was the very first local pet business to mentor Jake and offer guidance when we were just starting out. She’s been incredibly supportive, sharing advice and encouragement, and truly embodies what it means to lift others up in the community. Her kindness and willingness to help have made a lasting impact on both Jake and our business journey.
